I just hit level 49. My last year in my 40’s and not only are we in fall, I feel a new season is here. For the last year, I consistently posted a picture of me and my coffee mug and a message of some kind. Some times they were profound and other times not so much.
I wasn’t sure how long I would last in this and I am surprised I made it a year. I will tell you that at some point it became more of a thought that if I don’t post, someone may or may not see if I’m alive.

Something that I haven’t been very good at is having space for business development. Sure I met with my accountability partner every week, like I’ve been doing since 2016 and her and I both agree with in a new season in our business.
I am taking a lesson from her book and establishing business development hours in my week. This will be the time where I focus on content creation for Creative Life + Business Academy, Ask Petra Anything, things I need to do for Smoky Wood Studios and more. During that time, Zina will attend Doggy Daycare and get her much needed socialization and exercise in that doesn’t involve walking on a leash – she’s not quite a fan of that just yet.
I love working from home but it does present itself with a challenge because I often find myself just wanting to make art and push aside all those other things I need to be doing to grow my business. I am not immune to procrastination – I am human and not without flaws. But I am also a big fan of walking my talk and so when I talk with clients about overcoming procrastination, I’m a person who practices what they preach so-to-speak.
So for the next 6 weeks, Mondays and Thursdays I will spend 2-4 hours working in and on my business from Panera probably (unless I’m recording), creating content and working on things that need my attention.
What will you start doing to get yourself closer to your goals?
