A worldview is a set of fundamental beliefs and assumptions about the world that shape an individual’s perceptions, values, and actions. It is important because it provides a framework for understanding reality and making sense of the world around us.
A worldview helps us to make sense of complex issues and make decisions about how to live our lives. It shapes our attitudes toward topics such as morality, religion, politics, economics, and the environment. It also influences our interactions with other people, as our worldview affects how we perceive and respond to different cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs.

Moreover, a worldview is not just an individual construct, but it also has social and cultural dimensions. It connects individuals with broader cultural, social, and historical narratives that shape their identity and sense of belonging. A worldview can also serve as a source of community and shared values, as it allows individuals to connect with others who share their beliefs and values.
A person’s worldview can also change over time due to new experiences, exposure to new ideas, and personal growth. This evolution of worldview can be a positive aspect, as it allows individuals to broaden their understanding of the world and consider different perspectives.
I share all of this because as someone who is from another continent and country with quite a bit of upbringing, there seems to be the notion that one view is the only view we should consider.
A worldview is an important aspect of human cognition that influences our perceptions, values, and behaviors. It allows us to make sense of the world around us, connect with others, and guide our decisions and actions.
